We moved to a pocket of LA where our next door neighbors didn’t know each others names and we certainly didn’t know any, so I embarked on project:

Community the Neighborhood

TLDR: I created a QR code flyer inviting local strangers to my gatherings and it got almost 200 signups. I hosted 150 people over a series of homemade pizza parties. It was a success and catalyzed the start of new friendships, events series, business partnerships, romance and a broader local community.

It began by hanging these flyers around the local reservoir, taping them to utility poles, dog park entrances and crosswalk posts

I hung the flyers up, hoping to meet a dozen new people from it, but a few weeks later it had almost 200 signups!

We hosted 3 homemade pizza parties for people to choose their attendance at, since we could not possibly fit more than 100 people in our backyard.

I sent out an invite with another signup form to get headcount for dough.

They were a MASSIVE success!

and led to connections, memories and friend groups that simply wouldn’t have been created otherwise:
